THREE FAKE PROFESSIONALS CONVICTED

The Professional Regulation Commission-Cordillera Administrative Region (PRC-CAR), in its drive to enforce the professional regulatory laws, initiated criminal complaints against three (3) fake professionals posing as a dentist, a pharmacist, and a civil engineer.  In 2019, the courts sentenced them to prison terms up to four years and two months with fines for falsification of public documents and violation of the professional regulatory laws.

The fake professionals submitted documents to employers which later found spurious when verified by the Civil Service Commission through the PRC-CAR’s online verification of eligibility system. The fake dentist was exposed through an ocular inspection conducted by the Board of Dentistry.

The public is warned of fixers posing as PRC officials and employees extorting money in exchange for fake documents.  These are individuals, whether or not officially involved in the operation of a government office or agency, who has access to people working therein, and whether or not in collusion with them, facilitates speedy completion of transactions for pecuniary gain or any other advantage or consideration. Employers should verify first with PRC the documents submitted by applicants for employment or promotion.

The PRC reiterates that through Resolution No. 2004-223, the viewing of test papers or the filing of request for reconsideration of ratings after the result of the examination has been released is disallowed.  Lastly, only the PRC issues valid professional identification cards, official Report of Ratings, and Certificates of Registration.
