Pangasinan Launches Agew na Propesyonal
The Provincial Government of Pangasinan through Governor Amado T. Espino, Jr. and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has partnered to bring PRC services closer to all professionals and aspiring professionals in the province. Through a year-long “Agew na Propesyonal” launched on August 8 at the Provincial Capitol, PRC will go to different cities and towns in the province to process professionals IDs and applications for exams. It will also release unclaimed IDs and Board Certificates.
The Agew na Propesyonal, according to Governor Espino, will enable Pangasinenses to transact with the PRC Baguio Regional Office right in their hometowns all throughout the year. This is in response to clamor from parents and graduates to save on travel expenses in applying for exams. Also, professionals need not absent themselves from work anymore just to renew their professional IDs or claim their IDs, according to Gov. Espino.
Also, the Provincial Government through Vice-Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlim, Jr. and PRC Regional Director Teofilo Gaius M. Sison, Jr. signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to implement the Online Verification of Eligibility System (OVES). The MOA will ensure fast and reliable verification of credentials of professionals applying for Provincial Government positions. The OVES is being used by the Civil Service Commission, Department of Education, Department of Labor and Employment and local governments to keep fake professionals from entering the civil service. Through OVES, the CSC and PRC have recently discovered two (2) fake professionals applying for government positions. Vice-Governor Calimlim welcomed the OVES as a way to protect public health, welfare and safety against fake professionals.
Dir. Sison hailed Pangasinan provincial officials for initiating Agew na Propesyonal as this will enable the PRC to expand its services further to professionals and examinees in the province. PRC has been holding nurses licensure examinations in Dagupan City in Pangasinan since 2009.
