RESCHEDULING OF THE JUNE 2023 PSYCHOLOGISTS AND PSYCHOMETRICIANS LICENSURE EXAMINATIONS AND PRESCRIBING THE NEW DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION
The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), pursuant to PRC Resolution No. 1637 dated April 26, 2023, reschedules the June 13 and 14, 2023 Psychologists and Psychometricians licensure examinations as follows:
Examination Date
Original Schedule: June 13 and 14, 2023
New Schedule: August 1 and 2, 2023
Application Period
Original Schedule: March 13 to May 15, 2023
New Schedule: May 2 to July 3, 2023
Pursuant to Board Resolution No. 01 series of 2023 of the Professional Regulatory Board of Psychology, the following are the new documentary requirements when filing applications for the Psychologists and Psychometricians licensure examinations which shall take effect immediately:
I. PSYCHOLOGISTS LICENSURE EXAMINATION
A. First-Timers
a. Degree/Course Requirement: Master’s Degree in Psychology
b. Documentary Requirements:
1. Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Birth Certificate
2. PSA Marriage Certificate/Contract (for married female applicants)
3. Transcript of Records (TOR) for Master’s Degree in Psychology with scanned picture and Remarks “For Board Examination Purposes” indicating sufficient credits in the four (4) subjects required by the Law: Advanced Theories, of Personality, Advanced Abnormal Psychology, Counseling and Psychotherapy and Advanced Psychological Assessment
4. Certification, Authentication and Verification (CAV) for those who graduated from Autonomous/Deregulated Schools and TOR without Special Order (SO) number
5. National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance (valid at least 6 months as of the date of filing of the application)
6. Three (3) Certificates of Good Moral Character, preferably from school, employer, church, barangay captain, duly signed under oath by the issuing authority
7. Mental Health Certification-signed under oath by a Registered Psychologist/Psychiatrist
8. Certification or documentary proof that the applicant has undergone a minimum of two hundred (200) hours of supervised practicum/interniship/ clinical experience related to services enumerated in Section 3 (b) of RA No. 10029 specifying the institution where this internship training was spent, and the detailed activities or psychological services and number of hours rendered, under the auspices of a licensed psychologist or other licensed mental health professional. This certification must be issued by the Supervising Psychologist under oath.
c. Other Requirements:
1. Certificate of Equivalency from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Office of Standards and Programs through the Technical Committee for Psychology Education, if applicant:
• completed his degree program in Psychology from a school outside the Philippines
• completed a seemingly equivalent innovative program approved by CHED but may not have sufficiently met the required Policies, Standards and Guideline (PSG) for Psychology Education
• took subjects similar to the required Board Exam subjects that need to be confirmed and vetted by the CHED as equivalent
2. For the non-psychology degree holders TOR should show bridging subjects in Developmental Psychology, Theories of Personality, Abnormal Psychology, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Psychological Assessment, and Social Psychology.
B. Repeaters (Special Requirement/s);
a. TOR for Master’s Degree in Psychology with scanned picture and Remarks “For Board Examination Purposes” indicating sufficient credits in the four (4) subjects required by the Law
b. NBI Clearance (valid at least 6 months as of the date of filing of the application)
II. PSYCHOMETRICIANS LICENSURE EXAMINATION
A. First Timers
a. Degree/Course Requirement: BS/AB in Psychology
b. Documentary Requirements:
1. PSA Birth Certificate
2. PSA Marriage Certificate/Contract (for married female applicants)
3. TOR in Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (AB/BS) with scanned picture and Remarks “For Board Examination Purposes”. The TOR should further indicate completion (with sufficient credits) of the four (4) subjects required by the Law: Developmental Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and Psychological Assessment
4. CAV for those who graduated from Autonomous/Deregulated Schools and TOR without Special Order (SO) number
5. NBI Clearance (valid at least 6 months as of the date of filing of the application)
6. Three (3) Certificates of Good Moral Character, preferably from school (faculty teaching major course duly noted by Department Chair, Discipline or Student Affairs Officer), employer or Guidance Counselor, duly signed under oath by the issuing authority and under oath
c. Other Requirement: Certificate of Equivalency from the CHED Office of Standards and Programs through the Technical Committee for Psychology Education, if applicant:
• completed his degree program in Psychology from a school outside the Philippines
• completed a seemingly equivalent innovative program approved by CHED but may not have sufficiently met the required PSG for Psychology Education
• took subjects with different title but allegedly the same in content as those specified in the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR)
B. Repeaters (Special Requirements):
a. TOR in Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (AB/BS) with scanned picture and Remarks “For Board Examination Purposes”. The TOR should further indicate completion (with sufficient credits) of the four (4) subjects required by the Law
b. NBI Clearance (valid at least 6 months as of the date of filing of the application)
